Verified ReviewerCancelling my holiday
booking reference lov101****ou
good morning,
please can you explain or put me on to the right person. after speaking with loveholidays yesterday, in order to cancel our holiday we were expected to pay £1,173.16.
I had already paid £107.55 on 2/2/2025.
I then paid £618.79 as payment towards the holiday on 01/03/2025. this still was not enough money to cancel the holiday, so I had to pay a further £446.82 to cancel.
this is absolutely ridiculous. my husband was made redundant on monday 31/3/2025, so we thought we would cancel the holiday and use the money already paid to book a holiday at a later date. loveholidays said no, we could only book it 10 months in advance.
what is the point of a deposit?
quite happy to lose a deposit but not over £1000?
we have been with easyJet before for the whole package.
when we cancelled before, they even kept the deposit and we transferred to another holiday at a later date.
I even asked if my husband had died, would I still have had to pay this amount? she said yes!
looking forward to a response or somebody that can help me.
kind regards.
- No pros
- We did find a holiday we liked
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Don't book a holiday if you need to cancel it
Avoid.
Be aware! They are providing misleading details at the time of the booking just to charge you for the additional services which are free of charge.
In my case I have been informed that only cabin bags are included and charged extra £69 for the check in bag. However, after contacting the airline I have been told that all check in bags up to 23kg are free of charge. Loveholidays refused refund due to...
their policy. Avoid.

Verified ReviewerCancellation notice for insurance company
Family bereavement, on 5/2/25, which greatly affected my group from traveling, I need this notice to try to get some insurance back.
- Easy to book a holiday
- Hard to get on phone
Preferred solution: Full refund
Miss sold holiday.
First time using love Holidays and certainly won't use again.
Booked a holiday that was sold as a 5 star hotel with pools, spa, sauna, dinning, drinking. Basically you name the hotel had it.
We turned up eventually after the transfer company they booked us with eventually got the bus to start to be dropped off 10mins walk away from the hotel (which wasn't actually a hotel) to find that there was no facilities at all.
Other than a lift and a room there was nothing.
The rooms were dirty, covered in stains and marks. Lights didn't work, lamps had no plugs.
There were no reception and no staff. Just nothing.
Contacted love holiday and surprise surprise were now back home and are still waiting for the call we were supposed to get whilst on holiday.
This was a 0 star apartment block at best.
Love Holidays is a joke and clearly miss sells for a profit
User's recommendation: Avoid this miss leading company. They miss sells for profit

Verified ReviewerAvoid !!!!Terrible company
Avoid! Be careful!
This company deceives with prices! The prices on their website do not correspond to reality! For the first time, we booked a holiday through loveholidays.com on Wednesday evening for a Saturday flight. The next day, they called us and said that we needed to pay an extra £600, as the tickets had already gone up in price.
We asked when we could fly so that we wouldn't have to pay extra. They answered that on Sunday, then we agreed. After one hour, the company sent an email with confirmation that we have to pay an extra £450 again. And so, we discussed with them for a long time.
We asked why they told us that we didn't need to pay extra, to which they began to threaten us and said that everything was cancelled and we wouldn't receive anything! They cancelled everything without my permission and returned the money a few days later! Because of this company, we couldn't fly anywhere because we were waiting to get our money back! The best reviews about this company are bought.
Don't be fooled by their prices and what people say about them is good! Use our experience and help prevent troubles and fraud!
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified ReviewerPoor customer service
Love holidays do not check hotels and claim hotels offer services they don't like air conditioning. Very poor experience using love holidays and the customer support was poor.
I sent photos of the hotel room with a urine stained mattress and blood stained sheets which i was expected to sleep in. Love holidays said this is acceptable in a 4 star hotel

Verified ReviewerPrice Promise
The price promise element is false marketing and a farce. They look for any hole to deny the matching.
For example, the competitor spelled the room differently; they rejected the payout. Hahaha
- Price promise lying
- Overpriced

You tried to take a payment for my holiday and said it didn't go through. I don't know why, but I'm unable to get through on your phone line or customer service.
I'm really annoyed.
Please take the payment again. Holiday reference number is LOV988****U.
Preferred solution: To sort the payments out and actually speak to a person

Why did you argue a hypothetical with love holidays (a death)? Why didn’t you say instead, so there I have travel insurance.
A comment from love holidays was awful no compassion and by the way we did have insurance with yourselves, what load of rubbish that was cancel the holiday and then the insurance disappears off the app!!!!
I made that comment. I am not from loveholidays.
If you did buy insurance, you should have proof of payment.
That should be your argument. You did not mention that fact at all in your post.
OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD GROW UP. Just because someone tells you that they are wrong does not mean that they work for the company.
Clearly you are a child making this ASSumption. Your parents need to use the whip on you for lying. They are just telling you how insurance works. If you knew how to read you would know this.
You may be old enough to be married, but you are immature.
I feel sorry for your husband. he did not know what he was getting into when he choose to marry you.
Quite clearly you know nothing about myself and my family, how dare you write something so awful, quite clearly you are single and have nothing better to do than rant on other peoples posts who are quite clearly in distress, this is just shear frustration from the response from Love Holidays and other providers haven’t dealt with this in the same manner
What about you. You don't know anyone here.
You are ASSuming I am single. You are ASSuming that person works for the company. You hypocrite. How dare you ASSumie that I am single and they work for the company.
GROW UP CHILD. Your lied are making both you and your family bad. Making your parents look stupid.
Making you look stupid. Probably everyone is laughing at you.
You are deflecting and mad at a comment. Since you left out the fact that you bought travel insurance in your posting, call them and follow up. Coming here and arguing with strangers won’t get your money back.
None of these comments are awful. They are telling the truth.
If your poor wittle feeling are easily hurt you should not be on a PUBLIC FORUM lying about people working for the company or bring single. I blame your parents though.
They did not teach you right from wrong .Your parents are failures. So are you.
Actually having insurance probably won’t help. Especially if the reason is loss of employment.
Unless you bought travel insurance and have a qualifying reason, you are bound to their terms of service you agreed to. They are quite clear and exact.
Without travel insurance there is no litmus test to pass for a refund. Canceling “just because”, a hangnail, a hospitalization or a death all carry the same cancellation policy to be enforced.
Absolute load of rubbish and an automated message with no compassion what so ever , by the we did have holiday insurance with yourselves when told to cancel the booking because of our circumstances the insurance disappeared off the app surprise surprise!!!!
LoveHolidays is a British company. You see how the person who responded to you explaining about insurance spelled the word "hospitalization".
That is the American spelling.
Pray tell why you believe this person works for LoveHolidays? Also, you have posted your complaint to an international, public consumer complaint site, that anyone, anywhere in the world can view and make posts to.
